The start date of employment for the coming academic year is August 3, 2010.

Substitute Teaching Positions

We accept applications for substitute teachers on an on-going basis.  Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Education, a current Nova Scotia Teaching Licence, and a current criminal record check (completed within the last six months).  Ideally, the applicant will have experience teaching students with learning disabilities and have a firm understanding of adaptations to be used in the classroom.

How to Apply

To apply, please submit the following documents to one of the e-mail addresses below:

  • A cover letter and resume merged in one document;
  • A photocopy of your teaching licence;
  • Three professional references;
  • A photocopy of your criminal record check (completed within the last six months).

Selected candidates will be contacted for an interview.  As this is a specialized school for students with learning disabilities, the interview questions will be focused on the candidates understanding of learning disabilities.  Teachers should bring their professional portfolio to the interview.  Portfolios should include samples of lessons and units you have created and taught, certificates earned, transcripts, letters of reference, practicum reports, etc.
