Mission and Guiding Principles

Mission:
Bridgeway Academy's core activity is to provide specialized education to children with learning disabilities.

Guiding principles:

• Respect for all.
• Being able to read is a necessity, and when denied, is equivalent to stealing a child's future.
• For our teachers there are no problems, only interesting situations in which the child, the teacher and the parents work together to find creative solutions.
• Our staff teach children, not just curriculum.
• We provide a safe haven where children can heal and reclaim their self-worth as they learn to trust the educational process and themselves.
• By encouraging children to understand their personal challenges and the way they learn, we help them become advocates for themselves throughout life.
• Bridgeway restores the parent-child relationship by taking responsibility and accountability for educating children, allowing parents to focus on parenting.
• We use formalized testing and proven methods to develop a customized program designed to help each individual succeed.
• Bridgeway cannot help all children. Students with severe emotional and/or behavioral issues are outside the scope of our mandate and expertise.
