Teacher Testimonials
"When I found Bridgeway Academy, I found a new love for teaching. I can give each child the work that is appropriate for them, and the attention they need."
"During the course of my stay at Bridgeway I have had the opportunity to witness great achievements. The commitment from staff, board and parents to ensure the children at Bridgeway receive an optimal education and social experience is outstanding. Bridgeway has created its own perfected educational alternative that I love."
"I feel privileged to be a part of the unique atmosphere that Bridgeway Academy offers its students. In the small classroom setting, I am able to work with the students as a class, as well as on an individual basis. Because of this, I am able to discover each student's learning style and am better able to meet their unique needs. I have learned to never make assumptions. This truly is a place where the teacher teaches the student and the student teaches the teacher. "
"Our public school system cannot be all things to all people. Learning disabled students need a warm, friendly and caring educational environment to help them adapt and adjust to society's requirements. I am teaching at Bridgeway because I want to help these children learn the skills necessary to become successful participants in society."
"There was no university or college that could have prepared me for all that I have encountered here. The children teach me every day just how much I have to learn!"
"The moment I realized why I love teaching at Bridgeway Academy occurred during a math class last year. When teaching math, I have encountered a lot of fear around learning fractions. One student in particular struggled a great deal with learning this concept. On this day, he had been working very well all class and I went over to him to check on his progress. With fear in his eyes and his voice, he passed me his work and asked me to check it over. When I told him that he had answered every question correctly his eyes lit up and he exclaimed, "I did it. I never understood this stuff before." It was that moment I realized how important a school like Bridgeway Academy is."
"I was looking for a school that could really help learning disabled students both academically and behaviourally. Finding Bridgeway was a dream come true. Here at Bridgeway, with its small class size and dedicated teachers, learning disabled students who were formerly written off were learning and happy to learn."
